We have tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask and we will explain it properly.
If you use Finite without an account, we store nothing about you at all. Your date of birth is typed into your browser, the maths happens on your device, and nothing is sent to us.
If you subscribe, we keep one date, a handful of settings, and your email address. We do not track you, we do not advertise, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.
If you do not have an account — nothing.
The free version of Finite runs entirely in your browser. The date of birth you type is used to draw the grid on your own device and is never transmitted to us or stored anywhere. If you close the tab, it is gone.
If you subscribe, we store:
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or payment card details. Card details go directly to our payment provider and never touch our systems.
We hold this information to provide the thing you have paid for. There is no secondary purpose. We do not build profiles, we do not analyse behaviour, and we do not use your data to develop anything else.
Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis is performance of a contract — we cannot give you the product without it.

The free version of Finite is the strongest form of this promise: it stores nothing about you whatsoever.
A date of birth is personal data and we treat it as such. It is not special-category data under UK GDPR — that category covers health, ethnicity, sexuality, political opinions and similar — but it is still yours, and we hold as little around it as we can.
It is stored in a database protected so that only your own account can read your own row. It is never shared, never sold, and never used for anything other than drawing your grid.
Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication service, so we never see or store your password. The database is configured so that each account can read only its own row — not by convention, but enforced at the database level and tested.
If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the ICO within 72 hours, as the law requires.
Three companies help us run Finite. They are bound by their own data protection obligations and we have chosen them deliberately.
That is the complete list. There are no analytics services, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no chat widgets, and no third-party scripts of any kind on this site.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, it is covered by the appropriate safeguards required under UK GDPR.
We use one cookie, and only when you are signed in: it keeps you signed in. That is a strictly necessary cookie and needs no consent banner, which is why you have not seen one.
We set no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies.
While your account exists, and for 30 days after you delete it, after which it is permanently removed from our systems and backups.
We keep basic records of transactions for six years, because tax law requires it. Those records show that a payment happened; they do not include your date of birth.
Two clicks from your settings page. When you delete your account, your date of birth, settings and milestones are deleted — not hidden, not archived, not retained “for analytics”. Deleted.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it, but the right is yours either way.
We are registered with the ICO under registration number [ICO NUMBER].
Finite is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
If we change anything meaningful, we will update the date at the top and, if you have an account, email you before the change takes effect. We will not quietly start doing something new with your data.
